ScholarWord Download, Installation, and “First Run” Instructions:
You will first be presented with a small form that looks like this:

Click “OK” and the installation program will download to your pre-selected destination (most people have it to either their desktop or to a ‘my downloads’ folder, either way, just remember where to locate the installation program in the future).
You will then see the installation program in the place you downloaded; this example shows what it looks like on a typical desktop:

To install, double click (or click once, again, depending on your system settings) to install ScholarWord. You will first see a “preparing to install” screen:

You will then be provided with a very quick and easy wizard that walks you through installation. After installation, the program will be located at C:\Program Files\Xumbrus\ScholarWord
There will be a ‘shortcut’ on your desktop. The typical ScholarWord program icon looks like this (but varies based on system settings):

Then double click (or click once, again, depending on your system settings) to open the program and begin using ScholarWord.
The initial screen will look like this:

If you want to use Microsoft Word with the ScholarWord tools, choose the MS-Word ‘radio button’ – this is what computer geeks call them! Otherwise, we have our very own citation pad called the ScholarWord processor that you can use – we include this for those of you without Microsoft Word but still want to harness the power of our formatting tools and other
features.
You will now be presented with the main ScholarWord program on the right hand side of your screen that you can access a powerful and comprehensive cover page and citation formatting tools which and a vast array of writing guides by clicking on the tabs at the top of the screen labeled [Guides – Inserts – Writing – Citations]. Remember that if you chose to use our ‘ScholarWord processor’ you will not be able to insert cover pages because you must have
Microsoft Word open – because our cover pages formatting utilizes MS-Word features and then inserts the cover page into the MS-Word document.
More information regarding the use and operation of Scholarword can be found in our Online User Manual.
